What Cagrilintide is
Cagrilintide is a long-acting synthetic analog of amylin, the 37-amino-acid peptide hormone that pancreatic beta cells release together with insulin. It is lipidated with a C20 fatty diacid for albumin binding and engineered for better solubility and stability than native amylin, which aggregates readily in solution.
Research literature studies cagrilintide in amylin and calcitonin receptor pharmacology, satiety and gastric emptying signaling, and energy balance in preclinical models, frequently in combination work with GLP-1 receptor agonists.
